Roswell - TV SHOW ~ Review

First things first, a summary. Three young people, Max, Isabel, and Michael, come to Roswell, New Mexico. They meet a girl, Liz, who becomes the heroine of the show. The three people are aliens, that came from some planet and were born on earth. The story is about how the three of them are trying not to be found out by the police.

Second, the casting. It is kind of refreshing that the main alien is not hot, per se. He is normal-looking. A lot of shows that are like this, not typically alien shows, try to have a hot main character. I think that they could have chosen a better male to be the heroine's ex boyfriend.

Third, the directing. Oh my, the directing. I'd have to say that a different director would have made the show a lot better. The acting was horrible and I think it's the director's fault. I know how much stress is put on the director, but he/she could at least make things better in the show. I know, I know, piss moan, piss moan. I haven't seen the show in a while, so don't blame me, please.

The overall story. I do have to admit, it is original. I've never seen it before. Then again, I don't typically watch sci-fi shows. If you'd like to find out if this is original or not, find out from Anya Prynn's blog when she eventually watches it, which may be a while because she has SO MANY shows to watch before she even considers Roswell. So, for right now, you'll have to depend on the girl who watches more romance than science fiction. But, the story is pretty good. There is some romance in it, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have gone very far with it. I know, that's mean, but I get disinterested in things that don't involve romance. I'm a romance kind of girl.

Future aspects. I have to admit, a few of the things as the show went on, I was really not expecting. Like, SPOILER ALERT!!! There is a forth alien that comes in, somewhere in the third season. Now, that shocked me.

Location. I find it funny that, in actuality, the town of Roswell, New Mexico, really is obsessed with aliens, even though they do not exist. I believe Roswell was a good place to put this entire TV Show.

Overall, I liked the show. I would recommend it if you're into both science fiction and romance. Though, it's more of a normal teen show than science fiction.

Hetalia - MANGA ~ Review

First things first, the summary. Hetalia doesn't exactly have a summary. There are a lot of characters who are named after countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, and various parts of the world. There is an America, a Cuba, a Canada, and, my favorite, Italy, and many more. The entire manga basically is a gateway to history that you may have never known, or that you may know, in a much more fascinating and hilarious way.

So, the drawing first. It is very well drawn. Because there are so many characters, I still don't know, sometimes, who is who, but that's just me. Every character has a distinctive thing about them. For instance, Germany has slick back blond hair and a very square face. Italy has a small curl from his hair. France has long hair and a distinguished look. England has thick eyebrows, the list goes on. I'm always really surprised with the intricate details that everyone seems to notice in the background. It's rather hilarious in context when you're reading it.

Now, the overall script. This manga is absolutely HILARIOUS. Of course, some jokes are more obvious than others, but overall, the manga makes you laugh really hard. Of course, it's on LiveJournal, so you need an account to read it and it sometimes is out of order, so you're not entirely sure which goes first. But, either way, you don't always need to know the order, because it's hilarious either way, whether you read it in order or out of order. Later on, I'll give you the link to where you can read Hetalia.

And then there's the storyline. I don't have much of a complaint, but there really is no storyline, to tell the truth. It's just about these countries going through the different wars, like WWI and WWII and some other wars. At least, I don't see any prominent storyline. But, it is still a great manga, even so.

Yes, this review is rather short, but here is the link: Hetalia Live Journal.

But, in order to read it in English, be sure to click on the links that say 'live journal' in them. Some of them are locked, so, for those, you do need to be a member, so beware. For others, though, they do not require you to be a member.

Anyway, I highly recommend this manga to anyone who has a good sense of humor. It will make you crack up so hard. Enjoy!

Fruits Basket - ANIME ~ Review

Warning: The majority of my posts will include a review of something, whether it be an anime, manga, movie, TV show, website, or YouTube video, or YouTube person. Considering I've been making my reviews in the morning and my days are the most boring days ever, my day will not go under my review. If my day is interesting, I'll put it up that night.

First things first, the summary. Fruits Basket is about a girl who lost her mother in a tragic car accident and ends up living in the woods, until she finds a house in the middle of nowhere and realized the 'Prince' of her school lives there. But, she soon realizes a secret that will put a burden on the happy girl for the rest of her life.

First, just like Ouran, I'll talk about the speaking. I think the voices are very well-matched and they work with the characters. Though, at some points, the director didn't seem to know who was talking, so occasionally, you'll wonder why said person is saying said thing because it doesn't work with their personality. But, then again, that may be the manga's fault. Check below for my review on the manga.

I never saw the English sub, because I just never thought to. When I first saw it, it was on DVD at a friend's house, so seeing it English subbed really never occurred to me until, well, now. But, even so, I don't think I will.

Now, for the content. They jumped around SO much and they left out a lot, which really annoyed me because I'd already read up to book 6 when I'd see the anime and it really annoyed me. [The anime goes to book 6.] There were so many important aspects that should be in there, but weren't. For instance, how Kyo feels toward Kyoko, their relationship. [Kyoko is the heroine's deceased mother.] There is absolutely nothing in the anime that eludes to that relationship. It just seems like Kyo doesn't really care one way or another when they go to visit Kyoko's grave. I really wished they put in more stuff. I realize they have to cut down some things to make the anime make sense, but still, a lot of things were important.

And, not to mention, they added in things that did not belong, like the scene where the heroine's friends come over and the secret is revealed out in the open and the heroine has to try to avoid the potential scene it could cause her friends to make. That scene is, in no way, in the manga. Though, it is funny, but it does not belong whatsoever.

The anime did not keep me on my toes, considering that I've read the books, but it probably would have if I hadn't read the manga. If you haven't read the manga and you're interested, the anime may keep you on your toes. You never know.

Fruits Basket - MANGA ~ Review

Warning: The majority of my posts will include a review of something, whether it be an anime, manga, movie, TV show, website, or YouTube video, or YouTube person. Underneath that will be my day, or, if I do the review early in the morning, my day will be in a separate post.

First things first, the summary. Fruits Basket is about a girl who lost her mother in a tragic car accident and ends up living in the woods, until she finds this house in the middle of no where and realizes that the 'Prince' of her school lives there. When he finds out she's living in the woods, he offers her a place to stay. But, she soon realizes a secret that will put a burden on the happy girl for the rest of her life.

First, I'll go into the drawing, the good and the bad. I really like her drawing style. It makes things funnier, in a sense. Some mangas have the tendency to either make their males too long-looking or too skinny and a bit creepy. But, not in Fruits Basket. It seems as though all of the males and the females are perfectly proportioned. If you're anything like me, it's difficult to read a manga with weirdly drawn people. Now, for the bad, in some panels there are still words written in Japanese in the back of some panels and I don't know what they mean because I do not speak Japanese, or read it for that matter. So, sometimes, it's not clear what I'm looking at, but I try to figure it out.

Now, for the overall script of it, it's mostly good and the characters are very distinctive in their own ways. But, occasionally, there is a speech bubble that I have absolutely no idea whose it is, so it tends to get confusing. But, most of the time, the words make sense to who is saying them and why they are saying them.

Last, but not least: the storyline. It makes a lot of sense, and it keeps me on my toes, laughing, crying, and getting angry at all the right parts. I do have favorite characters, as you will find out, in all my reviews. My favorite character is Kyo in this manga. He is just my favorite. The story line goes along smoothly and everything falls into place so well. Though, I do have to admit, there are a few cliches, but I can live with it and so can you.

Day 1

My days are usually very uneventful, including today. Really, I went to class for four hours, waited for like an hour for my sister to pick me up from school, and then came home and played on the computer. How uneventful.

Though, I had to sit on this curb and my butt fell asleep like 15 times. I kept trying to move so that it wouldn't fall asleep, but it kept falling asleep and it was really awkward. My sister finally got there, so I got to go home, which I was happy about. But, sometimes, my sister can be a real flake. She'll tell me she's coming in 20 minutes and what she really means: I'll start getting ready in 20 minutes, then I'll leave 40 minutes after that, and then it'll take me 15 minutes to get there. That's my life with my sister. It's so aggravating, you have no idea.

I wish I could drive. If I knew how to drive, my life would be so much easier. EASIER, I tell you, EASIER.

Usually, when she takes this long, I take the bus and go home that way, but I had no money today, which was aggravating.

When I came home, I played on the computer until now. Oh, my joyous day.

Ouran High School Host Club - ANIME ~ Review

Warning: The majority of my posts will include a review of something, whether it be an anime, manga, movie, TV show, website, or YouTube video, or YouTube person. Underneath that will be my day, or, if I do the review early in the morning, my day will be in a separate post.

First things first: a summary. It is about a girl from a not-so-rich family coming into a school via a scholarship. She acts and looks like a boy, so when she encounters the host club in mysterious Music Room #3, she is caught by surprise. All six in the host club slowly find out she is a girl. The anime is about her life as a host and how she is a girl being fawned over by girls.

I am very aware of the fact that there is a manga of Ouran High School Host Club, and I am reading it now. Actually, I began to read the manga before I found the anime. I tried and tried to find the 3rd book in the manga, but I just couldn't. When I was told that there was an anime, my first thought was: I don't need the manga if the anime is the whole manga. But, I didn't really comprehend the fact that animes don't last forever. Well, some do, but not all.

Anyway, to my review. First, I'll talk about the language aspects. The anime comes in both english subbed and english dubbed. The subs in the english subbed went way too fast, so most of the time, you're looking at the subs and pausing and having no actual idea what on earth is going on, so it's not really funny. That's what happened to me the first time I watched it. I didn't catch most of the humor because my mind was running, looking at all the lines and freaking out. When I watched it the second time, it was with english dub and it all made so much more sense and I laughed at so much of it. So, I spent the majority of my time, watching these episodes, laughing so hard.

Now the voices in the english dub are rather annoying and don't seem to fit the characters. For instance, the twins are my favorite characters ever and I love them to pieces. But, their voices just seem to annoy me to no end. But, I got used to the voices and they didn't annoy me as much once the jokes caught on. They were so funny, to me. If you don't think the anime is funny, don't blame me. I just think it's hilarious.

Now, for the content. The anime seems to be directly pulled from the manga, which is great, because a lot of animes jump around and don't go with the books flow. True, there were a few episodes in the book that were not episodes in the anime, but the episodes that were not in the anime didn't seem to be too relevant to have in the anime. I say bravo to the anime for doing a great job.

This anime made me cry, made me smile, and made me angry at parts. And those are signs of a great anime. I definitely say you should watch it.

Hihi!

Heyhey~! This is Tay. I already have a blog on my website, but I almost never update it because it's hard. Before you say 'No it's not!' well, you don't have the same system I do at my house. After I update, I have to use an entirely other computer--Well, never mind, you probably don't care. But, if I have this blog and I talk about things that happen in my life and THEN put it on my website, I'm sure my friend, specifically someone, would be very happy.

And because she is my daughter (not biologically or foster or anything; It's a friend thing; Don't ask.), I want her to be happy. Yeah, because that makes so much sense. Point being, maybe I'll get more people to come to my site, which would make me happy~ And yes, my blog is pink for now. That is partially because I love the color pink.

What do you want to know about me? Frequent questions:

Name: Tay
Age: 999 ;]
Single?: How nice of you to ask, but no, I'm not a single-celled organism.
Sex: Female.
Location: I'm the monster in your closet! Nice to meet you.
Truthful: Sarcastic. ^^ <3
Funny?: That's really up to you.
Favorite color: Pink, for now. It changes.
Favorite sport: HAHAHA. Me? Sports? xD
Hobby: Writing.
-Obsession: Roleplaying. xD
Favorite Person: -gasp-! Why would you ask such a question?!
End of questions?: Yes please!

So, that's what you get to know about me. I'm a 999-year-old female who is a creeper. Awesome, right? ;] You know you think so. Anyway, I'm hyper for absolutely no reason. Please do not be repelled by this. Ask anyone. I am NOT like this ALL the time... Just... some times...

Yeah, I'm going to stop typing before I scare you all... Bye~
